About Youth Action @ Hyndburn

Youth Action @ Hyndburn is a youth service offering a range of exciting sports and leisure based opportunities to young people in the Hyndburn area.

Youth Action @ Hyndburn has been running successful projects since 2003 and was set up with an aim to create an accessible service which empowers young people from diverse backgrounds to realise their ambitions and raise their aspirations.

We do this by offering a young person led service which provides a range of quality developmental opportunities to all young people in Hyndburn. We facilitate the ‘Whatever you’re into, get into more’ ethos, the result of which is a service which integrates youth led training with a provision of youth services.

How exactly do we do this?

We offer a range of new and exciting development opportunities to young people living in the Hyndburn area.

We facilitate and stimulate young people’s interests in rewarding activities which progress into meaningful qualifications, in oreder to improve and acheive better health, raised aspirations and better economic well being.

We create a platform for participants to share their ideas, act as leaders and role models to other young people and steer the project through gaining trust and responsibility.

We have a friendly, relaxed, atmosphere and help people from all backgrounds to have a good laugh together. All activities offered are free of charge to young people. As a youth organisation, it is important for young people to be involved with the organisation at all levels; from sitting on the management committee, to leading sports activities, young people are central to the success of YA@H

In addition to running free sports sessions across Hyndburn, YA@H provides opportunities for young people to gain accredited qualifications in Sports Leadership and Sports Coaching, and to gain accreditation in a range of sports.
